Wexler Coronary Artery Bypass Graft Surgical Instrument Set

One of the most common heart diseases is known as coronary artery disease (CAD). This disease occurs when the coronary arteries are narrowed or blocked, usually caused by a build-up of fatty materials within the walls of the arteries. The treatment for this disease is known as a Coronary Artery Bypass Graft surgery, or CABG.

During this procedure, a healthy vein is harvested from another part of the body, such as the leg or wrist, and attached above and below the blocked artery. This graft creates a new pathway, allowing blood to bypass the blocked artery and reach the heart muscle.

While this procedure may be done using a minimally invasive approach, the traditional method is to use open heart surgery. As such, Wexler has created a line of open-heart CABG instruments to perform this delicate procedure.
